Grigori Khachaturov Will Continue to Remain at Liberty
The Court of Cassation has not accepted the appeal filed by the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, which sought to re-arrest him.
It is noted that the Prosecutor's Office had submitted a cassation appeal against the decision of the Court of Appeals of the Anti-Corruption, which had replaced Grigori Khachaturov's arrest with bail and administrative supervision. The prosecution had expected the court to apply the measure of arrest against Khachaturov once again.
The Anti-Corruption Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Armen Hovhannisyan, partially granted Khachaturov’s appeal against the extension of his arrest, substituting the measure of arrest with administrative supervision and bail in the amount of 20 million drams.
It is recalled that the criminal case pertains to the alienation of land. Grigori Khachaturov is being prosecuted on the grounds of legalizing real estate acquired through criminal means using his official position (money laundering).
