Those from the CP who did not participate in Hayk Sargsyan's bill vote: 'Joghavorud'

'Joghavorud' newspaper reports that the controversial bill authored by Civil Contract faction MP Hayk Sargsyan, titled 'On Amendments and Changes to the Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel,' was ultimately adopted in a parliamentary session on January 16, despite heated debates and objections.

The proposal raised a wave of discontent even within his own party, with government MPs openly expressing their disagreements regarding it. Although the bill was adopted with the support of the majority of the ruling MPs, several members of the Civil Contract party remained steadfast and did not participate in the vote on Hayk Sargsyan's proposal.

The final vote on Hayk Sargsyan's bill was 63 in favor, 27 against, and 6 abstentions. Among government MPs, Andranik Kocharyan, who had expressed his dissatisfaction during the committee's discussion of the proposal, was absent from the chamber during the voting. Other absent MPs during the vote included Hrachya Hakobyan and Arman Yeghoyan.

From the Civil Contract party, Vilen Gabrielyan, Gurgen Arsenyan, Lena Nazaryan, and Sargis Khandanyan did not participate in the vote on Hayk Sargsyan's proposal. Opposition MPs from the 'Hayastan' faction voted against the bill, while those from the 'Pativ Unem' factions abstained.
