Turkey Withdraws from World Economic Forum
The Turkish delegation has decided not to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF), which is scheduled to take place in Davos, Switzerland in 2024. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.
The report indicates that the key themes for this year's event will focus on peace negotiations in the Middle East. Additionally, participants will address issues related to the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
According to the agency, Mehmet Şimşek, the Turkish Minister of Finance, was expected to be part of the delegation. However, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has decided not to send state representatives to the event due to critical positions regarding Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip.
On January 5, the Turkish president stated that Ankara had come under attack from other countries. He noted that this was a result of Turkey's stance on the Middle Eastern conflict and calls for the international community to protect the Palestinian people.
