Iran Supports the One China Principle

Iran reaffirms its steadfast support for the People's Republic of China's right to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for China's reunification, based on peaceful development on both sides of the strait. This was stated by the official representative of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, to journalists following the elections in Taiwan.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran regards respect for the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries as the foundation of its foreign policy, and in this context has always stated its support for the One China principle," the diplomat said.
