Black Ice, Snow, Ground Fog, and Mist: Road Conditions
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
"Until February 15, due to road repair works, the section of the M-6 highway near Vanadzor-Alaverdi will be closed for buses and semi-trailers from kilometers 38-40. A detour will operate through the city of Noyemberyan.
The roads leading from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats pass and the Tigranashen twists are closed for freight trucks.
The road from the Jermuk intersection to Kapan, the Dilijan twists, and the roads from Ijevan to Noyemberyan and from Dilijan to Vanadzor are closed for vehicles with trailers.
In the Syunik region, it is snowing in the Saravan area called 'Zanger' and in the city of Jermuk. There is black ice on the roads in the Syunik region (in places), in the Dilijan twists, and on the roads from Dilijan to Vanadzor and in the city of Noyemberyan. There is fog at the Vardenyats pass.
In the regions of Ashotzk and Amasia, there is ground fog," the report states.
Regarding Lars, information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the North Ossetia Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for freight trucks. Drivers are advised to travel only on winter tires.
