VIDEO: Wine, homemade vodka, cigarettes, and lemon juice stolen from market booth
On January 1 at 10:50 AM, a resident of the village of Arpi in Vayots Dzor Province reported to the Yeghgnadzor police that during the night, 19 liters of wine, 13 liters of homemade vodka, 20 boxes of cigarettes, and one box of lemon juice were stolen from his booth located in a place known as the market of Ajapnyak, causing damages of approximately 80,000 AMD.
The dispatched operational group determined that another booth owner had also been affected; during the same time period, 100 liters of wine, 50 liters of brandy, 100 liters of homemade vodka, canned quinces, and other products were stolen, causing more than 600,000 AMD in damages.
A criminal case was initiated within the Vayots Dzor Regional Investigation Division, and through operational investigative measures, law enforcement obtained reliable information indicating that a resident of the village of Bujakan in Kotayk Province had committed the thefts.
Cooperating with the police officers from the Kotayk regional division and the Nairi department, Yeghgnadzor detectives discovered the 30-year-old suspect in his home village on January 4 and took him to the Yeghgnadzor police department along with his Ford vehicle, which was reported to have been used in the theft. Part of the stolen goods was also partially found in the vehicle.
Measures are being taken to ascertain all the circumstances of the incident. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
