VIDEO: Strikes on Over 60 Targets - The U.S. on Events in Yemen
The U.S. and coalition forces have struck over 60 targets of the Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen across 16 directions. This has been reported by the U.S. Air Force. It is noted that more than 100 precision-guided munitions of various types were used. Strikes were carried out both from the air and the sea.
“In the Middle East, we are committed to our important partners, helping them defend against groups backed by Iran, including Houthi militants and threats. They pose a threat to regional security and stability,” said U.S. Central Command General-Lieutenant Alex Grinkevich.
Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin also ordered strikes on Houthis in Yemen from the hospital using secure communication methods. This was reported by CNN.
A senior official from the U.S. Department of Defense stated that Austin was overseeing the operation despite being in the hospital.
“Today's strikes targeted locations associated with Houthi unmanned aerial vehicles, ballistic and cruise missiles, coastal radar systems, and air defense capabilities,” Austin's statement said on the U.S. Department of Defense website.
