Remains Still Exist After 44-Day War, Says Health Minister

There are still remains left after the 44-day Artsakh war. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, during a press conference.

"There are remains that have been examined multiple times, and the results have always been the same. I assure you that no identifications confirmed by the Forensic Scientific Practical Center have been denied either in Armenia or as a result of examinations conducted abroad," Avanesyan noted.

According to her, there was a case where a participant killed during the 44-day war was identified through forensic examination, but the relatives refused to bury the remains. In such cases, the state takes on the process of burial.

The minister emphasized that with the support and mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Armenia has been provided with the opportunity for more comprehensive examinations, which has been utilized.

Avanesyan stated that the process of summarizing the results of the examinations of the remains of fallen servicemen is ongoing.
