Salaries of State Revenue Committee Employees to be Based on Performance Indicators

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) needs to implement a new remuneration system that will be based on performance indicators. This was announced by the SRC President Rustam Badasyan during a discussion on amendments and additions to the law on the remuneration of state officials and public service employees at the meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Legal Affairs.

“Since the principle of fair distribution of salaries has been discussed in Armenia for a long time, we decided to introduce a new system where the salary amount will depend on performance indicators,” he said.

“It is important to know what kind of training the employees have undergone and, in the end, what qualifications they have obtained. Tax and customs officers participate in training courses organized by several international organizations. We expect that the most important of these will be determined by a list approved by the government, and successful participation in these courses and the presence of certificates will impact the salaries of tax and customs employees,” he added.

The second component of the performance indicator assessment will be the effectiveness of the specific employee's work. Following the discussions, the committee provided a positive conclusion on the legislative initiative.
