Fog, Snow, and Black Ice: Which Roads are Closed and Impassable

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and impassable roads within the territory of Armenia.

The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and the Kar lake in the Aragatsotn region are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers (use of chains is recommended).

There is black ice in some areas of the Gndevaz-Jermuk and Syunik region roads.

In the mountainous areas of Syunik, there is fog in the Saravan-Zanger section and in the cities of Talin, Jermuk, Dilijan, and Novemberyan.

Snow is falling in the Ashtarak and Maralik regions.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russia Ministry of Emergency Situations’ North Ossetia crisis management center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open to all types of vehicles.

Due to road renovation works, the M-6 highway section near Vanadzor-Alaverdi will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers for the period until February 15. An alternative route will operate through the city of Novemberyan.
