VIDEO: Imam Stabbed at Istanbul Mosque

On December 8, a stabbing incident occurred at the "Fatih" mosque in Istanbul right after the daily Islamic prayer (namaz). This information was reported by Ermenihaber.am.

It has been confirmed that both the mosque's imam, Galip Ustan, and a community member, Bilal Erdem, were attacked.

According to reports, a suspect entered the imam’s room after the prayer and expressed a desire to meet with him. Under still undisclosed circumstances, the individual then stabbed both men.

Later, Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that the individual accused of the stabbing had been arrested by police officers. The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

The act has been condemned by representatives of both the Turkish government and opposition.
