Cadastre Committee Head on Self-Built Structures

The deadlines for the registration of self-built structures have expired. As a result of the process carried out in 2022, 63 thousand self-built structures have been registered. This was stated by the head of the Cadastre Committee of Armenia, Suren Thomasyan, during a press conference at the Armenpress press hall, noting that no extension of deadlines is planned.

“Throughout this period, our specialists have carried out extensive work, and the information has been entered into the electronic system of the Cadastre Committee. There have been complaints from some citizens who did not manage to register in time. I want to emphasize that citizens had two years to complete this process,” said Thomasyan.

Self-built structures that have not been registered within the specified time frame are excluded from the process of legalization under the law. Registering these structures does not mean that they are recognized as legal. To legalize the structure, a citizen must apply to the community leader. If a decision is made to legalize, the relevant documents will be submitted to the Cadastre Committee and the legalization process will begin.
