Roads Closed and Difficult to Traverse in Armenia
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads throughout Armenia. Until February 15, the highway M-6 section near the Vanadzor-Alaverdi route, specifically between kilometers 38-40, will be closed to buses and heavy vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers due to road repair works. Alternative routes will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.
In the Aragatsotn province, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and Kechut Lake are closed. The Tigranashen bends (black ice) and the Vardenyats Pass are difficult to traverse for heavy vehicles with trailers (it is advised to use snow chains).
In the Sisian - “Zanger” section, as well as on roads in the Ashotk region of Shirak Province and Gegharkunik Province, there are patches of black ice present.
Regarding Lars:
According to information from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
