Zuckerberg Sells 1.28 Million Shares of Meta

Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta Platforms, sold approximately 1.28 million shares of his company in the last two months of 2023, earning a total of $428 million, Bloomberg reports, citing the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

According to Bloomberg's estimates, each transaction made by Zuckerberg in November and December 2023 averaged $10.4 million, with the largest sale taking place on December 28, when he earned around $17.15 million for 47,664 shares sold.

Zuckerberg, who had not sold Meta Platforms shares for two years, explained his decision to sell a portion of his shares by noting that valuations have risen significantly over the past year and are now close to the peak levels reached in 2021.

Bloomberg estimates Zuckerberg's total net worth at $125 billion, ranking him seventh on the list of the world's richest people.
