Some Electric Vehicles to be Imported to Armenia in 2024 with 0% Customs Duty
The government decided in its meeting today to apply tariff privileges for electric transport vehicles imported into Armenia and approved the import procedure.
The proposal provides for the importation of 7,400 electric vehicles under the tariff quota allocated for Armenia for the year 2024, applying a customs duty rate of 0%. This privilege is granted to both individuals and legal entities carrying out the imports.
The justification for the decision notes that an agreement has been reached in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council to extend the import privilege for electric transport vehicles for an additional two years. Within this framework, a tariff quota has been set for Armenia for 2024-2025, establishing a quota of 8,000 electric motor vehicles each year.
For the remaining 600 electric vehicles, there are plans to keep a reserve for imports based on branded and dealer/distributor agreements, aimed at ensuring support for official representatives.
