Video: Closed and Impassable Roads in Armenia - Ministry of Emergency Situations
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.
"The roads from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and the Stone Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass (snow and fog) is closed for trucks with trailers, and difficult to navigate for other vehicles. The Spitak and Stepanavan turns are difficult to navigate for trucks," the service informed.
It is noted that the roads from Dilijan to Yerevan, Dilijan to Vanadzor, Noyemberyan to Ijevan, Ijevan to Berd, Saravan to 'Zanger', and the road leading to the city of Jermuk are closed for trucks with trailers (black ice).
"The Alagyaz-Artik road (fog) is difficult for all types of vehicles. On the road leading to Jermuk, in the areas of Tatev-Ltsen, Goris-Sisian, Sisian to 'Zanger', traffic is affected by black ice in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, and Talin, as well as on the Lanjik-Mastara and Aparan-Tzilkhar roads. In Spitak, Stepanavan, and Vanadzor, there are patches of black ice," the statement mentioned.
In Dilijan City, snow is reported on the Saravan-'Zanger', 'Meghru Sar' sections, as well as on the roads leading to Aparan, Talin (fog), and Jermuk. Conditions of fog are noted in the regions of Ashotzk and Amasia," the message stated.
Regarding the Lars road, it is reported that according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to drive exclusively with winter tires.
