Thousands of Shoes Discarded on Danish Beaches Amid Storm

Thousands of shoes have been discarded along the beaches of Denmark. Local DR television reports, citing RIA Novosti. The cause is the 'Pia' storm raging across Europe, which resulted in the Danish Maersk vessel losing 46 containers of goods.

'This is madness. There are thousands of shoes lying around,' quotes the television broadcast's coastal inspector, Thomas Durlow.

In addition to the shoes, which made up the majority of the goods washed ashore, the beaches have also revealed medical equipment and small wheels intended for vehicles.
