Snow and Blizzards in Certain Regions

As of 17:00 on December 24, snow is falling in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Stepanavan, Vanadzor, Ashotzk, Jambarak, and Sevan. This was reported by the Road Department.

Blizzard conditions are present on the Kuchak-Mirak and Alagyaz-Artik roads, as well as in the regions of Ashotzk, Gavar, and Sevan. Due to the blizzard and low visibility, the Artik-Alagyaz road is closed to all types of vehicles.

Because of the weather, the Vardenyats and Spitak mountain passes are closed to vehicles with trailers and are difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles. There are areas of black ice on the roads in the Jambarak and Gavar regions.

It is reported that other interstate and national significance roads are open. Road construction crews are working on clearing and salting the roads. To avoid accidents, incidents, and traffic jams, drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
