Georgia Bans Heavy Truck Traffic to Armenia and Turkey

Georgia has banned the movement of heavy trucks on the roads leading to the Armenian and Turkish borders. This was reported by the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

“Due to heavy snowfall and black ice, the movement of vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers has been banned on the international highways from Khashuri to Akhaltsikhe and Vale (at the Turkish border) and from Akhaltsikhe to Ninotsminda (at the Armenian border),” the statement said.

It is noted that the movement of road transport with 30 or more seats is also prohibited on these highways.
