UN Has Never Seen Anything Like This in Its History: Guterres
In Gaza, 136 UN staff members have been killed in a span of 75 days. This was stated by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on his X page, emphasizing that the UN has never seen anything like this in its history.
“Most of the personnel have been forcibly displaced from their homes,” Guterres wrote, noting that he bows in respect to the thousands of staff members who risk their lives to support the peaceful residents of Gaza.
It is worth recalling that the war in the Gaza Strip began on October 7, following an unexpected attack by Hamas, which has been designated a terrorist organization by the US and EU, on Israeli settlements.
