Traffic Conditions in Armenia: Road Closures and Difficult Passages

There are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in Armenia, with snowfall in some areas. This information is provided by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations' Rescue Service.

It has been reported that roads are closed from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and the Kechut Lake. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for truck-trailer combinations in foggy and blizzard conditions, even with chains.

Snowfall is occurring in the areas known as 'Meghru Mountain,' in the regions of Elpin, Ashotzk, and Amasia, as well as in the city of Gyumri. There are patches of black ice on the roads leading to the city of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor, on the Tatev-Ltsen, Goris-Sisian, and Sisian-'Zanger' routes in Syunik, and in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, and Talin in Aragatsotn.

It is reminded that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for heavy vehicles.
