VIDEO: Foreign Online Casinos Operating Without License to Be Blocked in Armenia
The authorities of Armenia will block the websites of foreign online casinos operating without a license. The draft amendments to the laws on gambling and associated regulations were approved during today’s session of the Armenian government.
According to another amendment, individuals who are not citizens of Armenia and visit casinos located in the country will be able to place bets and receive winnings in foreign currency. In this way, according to the executive body, the country's gaming industry will become more attractive for tourists.
Additionally, it is planned to increase the requirements for monitoring against money laundering. For this purpose, casinos will be required to undergo an annual financial audit, conducted only by organizations that have experience in auditing at least five enterprises, and the auditors must hold international certification.
