Economy Minister Discusses Customs Clearance for Georgian Plated Vehicles
The Ministry of Economy has proposed legislative solutions to address the customs clearance of vehicles with Georgian registration plates. According to Sputnik Armenia, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan stated this during a briefing with reporters.
“After this short-term support program, there will be regulations that will simply exclude the possibility of driving a vehicle with non-EAEC plates in Armenia for an extended period,” he said. He reiterated that if there is legislation, then that legislation must be upheld.
It is worth recalling that earlier it was reported that the State Revenue Committee has introduced a draft proposing that separate fees be paid to operate vehicles registered in Georgia in Armenia, essentially a pledge payment. Until now, Armenian citizens had not cleared customs for vehicles purchased in Georgia and were operating them unregistered within the territory of Armenia.
