Cases of Violence Against Rangers and Staff are Unacceptable: Torosyans
Cases of violence against the staff of the Police Service and the Sevan National Park by a group of citizens in the Sevan Lake and coastal areas are unacceptable. This was stated by the MP Arsen Torosyan on his Facebook page.
“Such behavior against those who ensure the supremacy of the law on the path to building a legal state should be subject to strict legal assessment. A similar incident happened a few years ago related to the forests of Tavush. The national resources of our country are the property of all of us and are protected by law. There are legally established procedures, volumes, and timeframes for both logging and fishing, and all processes occurring outside of them should be strictly suspended,” the MP wrote, adding, “I thank the water patrol service and the staff of the Sevan National Park for their service.”
It is worth mentioning that earlier it was reported that in Gegharkunik, fishermen engaged in mass hooliganism, using violence against officials carrying out their duties; 26 individuals have been arrested, according to the Investigative Committee.
