There Has Never Been a Proposal in the Negotiation Process for the Resolution of the Artsakh Issue, Says Nikol Pashinyan

During an interview with public television, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the longstanding negotiations regarding the resolution of the Artsakh issue. Before the complete broadcast of the interview, the television station released a preview where journalist Petros Ghazaryan asked whether the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh is closed. Pashinyan responded, “There has never been a proposal in the negotiation process for the resolution of the Artsakh problem. The Armenian government has done everything to prevent the depopulation of Artsakh amidst constant suggestions for people to leave. We did everything to ensure that this did not happen.”

Commenting on the statement made by the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry that the agreements of November 9 have largely not been fulfilled due to Armenia, Pashinyan replied, “So, the trilateral statement of November 9 states that Azerbaijan should attack the Armenian population of Artsakh, while the Russian peacekeepers should remain in their shelters during this time?”

When asked whether Armenia wants something at this time, the Prime Minister answered, “We want the sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence, statehood, and democracy of Armenia.”
