The Population of Armenia Decreases
According to the census conducted in Armenia in 2022, the permanent population of the country stands at 2,932,731 people. Among them, 1,548,250 are women, and 1,384,481 are men. The data has been published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
The number of the resident population during the same period is recorded at 2,869,438 people. According to the census data, both the resident and permanent population figures have decreased compared to the previous census conducted in 2011.
Specifically, the number of permanent residents has decreased by approximately 86,123 since the 2011 census, which recorded a permanent population of 3,018,854. In 2001, the population was 3,213,011.
The number of permanent residents in urban areas is 1,871,913, while in rural areas, it is 1,060,818. The population of Yerevan in 2022 reached 1,086,700.
