Hungary Can Block Ukraine's EU Entry '75 More Times', Orbán
Hungary has not obstructed member states from deciding to start negotiations with the EU, as it can 'block the process 75 more times'. This statement was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán during a broadcast on Kossuth Radio, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"The decisive argument was that Hungary loses nothing considering that the final decision regarding Ukraine's membership must be made by 27 parliaments, including the Hungarian one. So, if we do not want Ukraine to become an EU member, then the Hungarian parliament will vote against it," Orbán stated.
According to him, "before the matter reaches the parliaments, there is a long, very long process ahead." He added, "There will be approximately 75 instances when the Hungarian government will be able to halt this process."
