Exit Stamp Requirement in Passports to Be Removed from January 1, 2024

From January 1, 2024, the requirement for Armenian citizens to have an exit stamp indicating the validity expiration in foreign countries will no longer be enforced, according to the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

On September 22, 2023, the Armenian government adopted a relevant decision to exempt citizens from this requirement upon exiting the Republic of Armenia starting January 1, 2024. Until December 31, 2023, the regulation still applies to individuals crossing the Armenian border, making the presence of a stamp in their passports mandatory.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has officially notified the competent authorities of foreign states regarding these changes. It is possible that officials at certain border checkpoints may not yet be adequately informed about these adjustments. In such cases, Armenian citizens can refer to the official links provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia as official proof of the removal of the requirement for the validity indication in foreign countries.
