Turkey Reaffirms Readiness to Support Landlocked Countries: Huseyin Ozen

According to Huseyin Ozen, the first secretary of Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkey is the largest donor to the base of landlocked countries that are members of the United Nations, and its services are available to all who wish to benefit.

Speaking at the ministerial meeting of landlocked developing countries held in Yerevan, Ozen emphasized that Turkey prioritizes continuous and unobstructed transport connectivity, thus supporting the operation of multimodal transport routes.

“Following the 22nd ministerial meeting that took place within the framework of the UN General Assembly, this meeting will play a crucial role ahead of the conference to be held in Kigali in June. The topic and urgency of today’s meeting are timely. We need to strengthen fair, affordable, and inclusive transport connectivity as a driving force for long-term, resilient economies. There are several crises in the world that impact various aspects of our lives. In this context, landlocked countries are more vulnerable to global challenges and socio-economic repercussions. We recognize that transport connectivity plays a key role in the economic sphere, especially for the countries belonging to this group. The benefits of connectivity are not limited to merely economic considerations. They are catalysts for overall sustainable development.

Located at the crossroads of major transport corridors, Turkey prioritizes continuous and unobstructed connectivity, therefore supporting the operation of multimodal transport routes,” Ozen noted.
