Kerobyan on Armenian Trucks at Upper Lars
Armenian trucks are passing through Upper Lars at a normal pace for the winter. This was stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, during a press briefing after a government meeting.
Referring to export volumes, Kerobyan mentioned that the Armenian government is taking steps to assist exporters in exporting goods to third countries. "Our plans include efforts to increase our capabilities in various other directions by 2024, in order to achieve export diversification," said the minister.
When questioned about the fact that Armenia's exports are primarily directed towards Russia and that more attention should be focused on this direction, Kerobyan stated that the Armenian authorities do not wish to improve relations with other countries at the expense of one particular country. "We just know that there is quite a significant potential in many other directions apart from the currently functioning ones. We need to work diligently in that direction, as new markets are not well known in terms of consumer behavior and preferences. Often, it is necessary to produce new products for that new market, and this requires significantly more serious work than what is currently being done," he emphasized.
According to Kerobyan, today the most attractive directions for Armenia are the countries of East Asia, such as India, China, Japan, as well as the Middle East, Arab countries, Europe, and the United States.
