Gaza No Longer Habitable Following Bombardment, Says UN
The Gaza Strip is no longer a viable place for life. This statement was made by Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), during a press conference held in Geneva.
Lazzarini mentioned that he had returned from Gaza to participate in a forum for refugees in Geneva. This was his third visit to the city since the onset of the war, and each time he has witnessed the deteriorating situation in Gaza.
“Today, Gaza is no longer a place for habitation,” Lazzarini stated. According to the UN representative, even the areas that could serve as shelters for the Palestinian population are increasingly dwindling, as the number of places that can be considered even slightly safe continues to decrease.
