Yulia Fines Attempts Escape from Investigative Committee Bathroom in Yerevan

A 19-year-old Russian citizen, Y. M., sustained injuries while attempting to escape from the Yerevan Investigative Committee's Erebus and Nubarashen administrative districts. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

"During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case being pursued by the Erebus and Nubarashen Investigative Division of the RA Investigative Committee, on December 12, 2023, an interrogation took place between the detained individual and the victim of the same criminal case, Russian citizen Yu. Maksimovskaya. After the interrogation, around 21:30, Yu. Maksimovskaya requested to go to the bathroom. The investigator accompanied her to the female restroom and waited outside the door. Upon entering, Y. Maksimovskaya attempted to escape through a small window in the bathroom and fell onto the lattice roof located in the yard designated for the detention of arrested persons by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, sustaining bodily injuries," the report states.

It is reported that Yu. Maksimovskaya was transferred to the Erebuni Medical Center. According to the medical institution, she was diagnosed with L2 and L3 vertebrae compression fractures.

"In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated on December 12, 2023, in the Erebus and Nubarashen Investigative Division of the Yerevan Investigative Department under part 1 of Article 44-506 of the RA Criminal Code. An investigation of the incident site has been conducted," the Investigative Committee's announcement indicates.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that on December 9, at 00:23, as a result of measures taken following a citizen's call, it was revealed that Russian citizen K.A. and Y.U. had displayed a blatant disregard for public order between 22:00 and 23:00 on December 8, exhibiting disrespect towards society and blatantly ignoring moral standards. In particular, they damaged property at a fast-food location at Tumanyan 29 in Yerevan, threw fruit at an employee, and trampled flowers at a flower shop operating at Mashots 24, accompanying these actions with inappropriate language. A criminal case was initiated under the characteristics of hooliganism by a group of individuals."
