US Demands Israel to Conclude Military Operations by Year-End: The Economist
The US authorities have informed Israel that it is necessary to conclude military operations in the Gaza Strip by the end of the year, reports The Economist.
According to the publication's sources, the position of the American authorities was conveyed by Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his recent visit to Israel. However, officials from both countries publicly deny that the US administration has set deadlines for the Israelis.
Nonetheless, The Economist suggests that Israel has only a few weeks to achieve military success in the Gaza Strip. If this does not happen, it is likely that the US will cut military aid to Israel, which will only complicate the country's situation further.
