‘Everyone capable of carrying a weapon should master it professionally’: Arshakyan

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan has expressed the opinion that everyone capable of carrying a weapon should have easy access to it. He called on private investors to open international-level civilian shooting ranges in Armenia.

“Everyone capable of carrying a weapon should master it professionally and be able to easily access not only purchasing but also using it, as well as regularly testing their knowledge,” he noted.

It should be mentioned that the National Assembly is discussing a draft law authored by ‘Civil Contract’ fraction member Vilen Gabrielyan, which proposes amendments to the ‘Regulation of Firearm Circulation’ law. The legislative changes aim to regulate newly created legal relations in the field of civilian firearm circulation, establish new legal relations directed at the development of the economy, sports, and shooting, tackle potential corruption risks, and reduce the amount of illegal weapons while gradually removing them from shadow circulation.
