Once Again I Repeat: For Us, the Important Thing is to Achieve Our Goals - Peskov
The reduction of Western aid to Ukraine is not related to Kyiv's willingness to engage in negotiations. For Russia, the important thing is to achieve its objectives, and if its opponents reject the possibility of dialogue, the special operation will continue. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President. The information was relayed by RIA Novosti.
“It has nothing to do with it,” Peskov told reporters in response to a question about whether there had been an offer from Kyiv to negotiate in light of the reduction of Western aid to Ukraine.
“Once again I repeat: for us, the important thing is to achieve our goals. Of course, it is preferable to achieve these goals through political-diplomatic means. But when the West and the Ukrainians reject these methods, the special military operation continues,” he added.
The U.S. Congress has yet to approve the administration's request for $61 million for Ukraine and may not do so until the end of the year when previously allocated funds run out. The White House has acknowledged that the absence of U.S. support will also raise doubts among allies regarding further assistance to Kyiv.
