Discussions Held with Russia on Resuming Dairy Product Supplies from Armenia
On December 5, a meeting took place in Moscow between Armen Hayrapetyan, the head of Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body, and Sergey Dankvert, the head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia. This information was reported by the Food Safety Inspection Body (SAATM).
The talks addressed recent issues that have arisen in the process of importing phytosanitary controlled shipments from Armenia to Russia.
Armen Hayrapetyan emphasized that comprehensive control measures are being persistently implemented to prevent shipments with violations from being supplied to Russia. He assured that the transparency and reliability of phytosanitary certification for exported products are being ensured to maintain traceability and safety of the supplied goods.
Sergey Dankvert also assured that the Russian authorities demonstrate the same level of scrutiny during the monitoring of any plant products entering Russia and take appropriate measures for every violation found, regardless of the exporting country.
During the meeting, the issue of resuming dairy product supplies from Armenian producers to Russia was also discussed. An agreement was reached on joint inspection measures, the exact timelines of which will be clarified in the course of their work.
