Absence of Armenian Delegation at CSTO Meeting Will Not Affect Decision on Unified Air Defense System: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister
The absence of the Armenian delegation from the CSTO meeting will not impact the decision to create a unified air defense system. This was stated by Alexander Pankin, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, during a press conference.
“Their physical absence does not significantly hinder the processes of coordination for the adoption of collective documents by other member countries, which they often join,” Pankin remarked from Russia.
It is worth mentioning that Alen Simonyan, the President of the Armenian National Assembly, confirmed through an official letter that he would not participate in the off-site session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council and the 16th plenary session taking place in Moscow.
Recently, key figures from Armenia, including the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defense, and the Secretary of the Security Council, have also not participated in events organized under the CSTO framework.
