The Border with Armenia is the Shortest and Most Qualitative for Iran, Says Ambassador

The border with Armenia is the shortest and qualitatively the best border for Iran, said Mehdi Sobhani, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran to Armenia, during the expert conference entitled "New Realities and the Crossroad of Peace."

"This border has always been a border of peace and friendship. The two countries have never threatened each other and have always provided opportunities for one another. Our cooperation has developed in various directions. Mutual trade turnover has multiplied, reaching 1 billion U.S. dollars," emphasized the ambassador.

He recalled that Armenia and Iran have mutually beneficial agreements, especially in the field of infrastructure development. "We are now trying to explore the hidden potential that will contribute to the growth of relations between the two countries. There is no doubt that the development of transit infrastructure and the opening of communication routes will facilitate the development of various sectors of the economy and trade, as well as expand interactions between the peoples. They will also pave the way for regional participation," noted Mehdi Sobhani.

He called for thinking of new ways while relying on the past.
