VIDEO: "Demolish Completely So New People Don’t Move In" - Avinyan on Emergency Buildings on Artsakh Street

As of 2023, we have 14 buildings classified as 4th degree emergency. This was stated today by Khoren Grigoryan, head of the Construction and Urban Development Department, during a working session of the Yerevan City Hall.

“In the center, 1; in Erebuni, 1; in Shengavit, 5; in Ajapnyak, 5; in Avan, 1; in Qalaqerr-Zeytun, 1: The number of buildings with 3rd degree emergency status is 107. In Ajapnyak, there are 36; in Arabkir, 5; in Avan, 1; in the center, 13; in Shengavit, 25; in Malatia-Sebastia, 5; in Erebuni, 16; in Kanaker-Zeytun, 3; in Nor Nork, 2; and in Nubarashen, 1,” he said.

Mayor Tigran Avinyan gave a new instruction to the Construction and Urban Development Department: “Recently, we handed over more than 40 apartments to residents of various emergency buildings, mostly those located on Artsakh Street. Once all of those people have been relocated, I ask that you ensure the demolition of those buildings. Let’s demolish these 4th degree emergency buildings completely so that new people do not move in, and we do not fall into the same cycle again. We don’t want to see 3 new people moving into that building. Let’s solve the problems for these individuals, transfer everyone, and the day after their relocation, we should immediately demolish the buildings, allowing them to go into the annals of history,” he said.
