Continuation of Influence by Other Players Serves to Maintain Confrontation: Bayramov

Despite the destruction and non-healing wounds, Azerbaijan has become the initiator of the process to normalize interstate relations with Armenia. This was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a speech at the 30th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers in Skopje. Azerbaijani media reported this.

The Foreign Minister noted that the continuation of geopolitical intrigues initiated by other entities is ineffective and only serves to prolong the peace process. “Despite Azerbaijan's unequivocal commitment to peace, the process is facing new delays. It took more than two and a half months for Armenia to finally present its comments on the draft agreement. Similarly, the biased and unilateral actions of certain parties seriously affect the process. We continue to firmly believe that Azerbaijan and Armenia have a historical opportunity to establish good relations and coexist peacefully as two states. It is time to seize this opportunity. Armenia must realize that the path to peace lies through bilateral dialogue and normal relations with neighbors,” Bayramov stated.

“The continuation of geopolitical influence by other players is counterproductive, as it only serves to maintain and prolong confrontation,” Bayramov concluded.
