Blinken Gives 'Green Light' to Israel: Hamas

Hamas believes that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has given Israel a "green light" to resume military operations in the Gaza Strip. This statement was made by Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the movement's political bureau, in an interview with Al Jazeera. The information is reported by TASS.

“Every time before a new act of aggression, we always see how the U.S. Secretary of State gives Israel the ‘green light’ to continue its crimes, providing assistance and all means of political protection,” noted al-Hayya.

Earlier, Israeli state broadcaster Kan reported that Blinken had completed his visit to Israel and left for the United Arab Emirates just minutes after the resumption of military operations in the Gaza Strip following the Hamas movement's violation of the ceasefire.

“The issue of exchanging hostages and prisoners cannot be resolved during military operations. First, aggression must stop, and then we can exchange prisoners. We cannot negotiate the release of soldiers captured by the adversary during the height of its military operations. That is why we initially agreed to the release of civilians, as well as women and children. The conversation about the release of our military personnel should only take place in the context of a complete ceasefire,” emphasized the Hamas political bureau member. “We have informed the mediators that we are ready to negotiate the release of civilians in our custody in order to achieve a full ceasefire,” he added.
