Chinese President Calls for the Creation of an Independent Palestinian State

The right of the Palestinian people to live and create their own independent state must be realized as soon as possible. This statement was made by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In a message on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Chinese President wrote that peaceful negotiations between Palestine and Israel should be resumed as soon as possible.

Xi Jinping emphasized that the painful lesson of the decades-long Palestinian-Israeli conflict shows that only a common security concept can help achieve sustainable security.

On November 30, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a document consisting of five points regarding China’s position on the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. China specifically calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the protection of peaceful civilians. Beijing supports returning to the "Two States for Two Peoples" plan and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
