Video: I Am Not Afraid to Say That Democracy Often Disrupts the Security of the Country – Serzh Sargsyan
Targeting has become a common phenomenon for me for over 30 years. This was stated by the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, during a conversation with journalists.
“Traditionally, this was initiated by the Azerbaijanis, and then, in the mid-1990s, local voices joined them, and now not much has changed. New voices with new tones have joined that choir. I don't know if they realize that by considering themselves opposition, they are feeding water into the mill of Armenia's rulers. The same can be said about the Republican Party with certain peculiarities,” noted Sargsyan.
He emphasized, however, that the most important matter today is not this. “In my opinion, this is not the most important thing; the most important thing is that the Republic of Armenia has been targeted, our state and statehood have been targeted,” he highlighted.
Sargsyan also addressed the current government's policies, stating, “Yes, I am not afraid to say that democracy often disrupts the security of the country.”
