Ukraine's Planned Military Spending Revealed
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense plans to allocate 175 billion hryvnias (almost 5 billion dollars) from its defense budget next year for the acquisition of missile weapons and ammunition, and an additional 80 billion hryvnias (2.2 billion dollars) for military equipment. This information was disclosed by Yuriy Zhigiry, the deputy minister of defense, as reported on the Ministry's Telegram channel. According to gazeta.ru, Zhigiry stated, "In this direction, approximately 175 billion hryvnias will be required from the appropriations planned for 2024. For military equipment, about 80 billion hryvnias. The next priority is the ongoing repair of damaged military equipment and the procurement of spare parts."
Earlier, in Berlin, Moscow's ambassador Sergey Nechayev reported that the German government has spent 4.2 billion euros on military assistance to Ukraine since the start of the Russian special military operation. He noted that as of today, Germany has allocated a total of 24 billion euros to support Ukrainian authorities across all sectors.
