Video: Railway Must Definitely Pass Through Meghri, Says Pashinyan
Since 1998, the name Meghri has been a topic of discussion. We now want to provide a very clear answer to this question: Do we believe that a railway should pass through Meghri to connect the east and west, including Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan and Turkey, as well as linking Meghri to Eraskh and the rest of Armenia, thereby incorporating Armenia into the international railway network? Yes, absolutely, and it fully aligns with Armenia's interests.
This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live session answering citizens' video questions on November 24.
“That is why one of the key points of the peace treaty relates to communications. One of Armenia’s biggest problems has been the blockade that has lasted for 30 years. We hope to overcome the blockade through the pathway of peace,” he added.
