Georgia hopes that Armenia and Azerbaijan will soon sign a peace treaty. This was stated by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili during a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, according to the press service of the Georgian government.
The Georgian Prime Minister is in the capital of Azerbaijan, where he is participating in the SPECA (United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia) summit. It was noted that the parties discussed the situation in the region and the world, addressing security issues.
Earlier, Garibashvili stated that Georgia is ready to work with Armenia and Azerbaijan to achieve lasting peace in the South Caucasus. He has also repeatedly proposed Tbilisi as a platform for negotiations to regulate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
