Why is the Government Opposed to the 'Hayakve' Legislative Initiative Related to Artsakh? - 'Pasta'

The 'Pasta' newspaper reports that according to the legislation, the draft bill initiated by 'Hayakve' regarding Artsakh is set to be discussed in the relevant permanent committee of the National Assembly by the end of this month. Regardless of the conclusions drawn by the lead committee, the bill will be included in the agenda of the parliamentary plenary sessions.

It was revealed yesterday that with the initiative of the 'Hayastan' faction of the National Assembly, parliamentary hearings on the statement project regarding the agenda issue raised by the 'Hayakve' civil initiative will be held on November 24 at 11:00 AM in the National Assembly session hall. It is expected that there will be quite a representative participation and discussion.

It is worth noting that in connection with the 'Hayakve' legislative initiative, the government has presented its proposals. The essence of these proposals indicates that 'the additions suggested by the draft have legal certainty issues, relate to the structure of the criminal code, and pose risks for various interpretations based on the above-mentioned and other justifications at domestic and international courts; therefore, it suggests refraining from implementing them.'
