Washington Ready to Facilitate Talks Between Armenia and Azerbaijan: State Dept.

Washington continues to engage the leadership of both countries and is ready to facilitate negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan to achieve lasting and robust peace, where the rights of all are respected. This was stated by U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller during a daily press briefing.

Miller emphasized the importance of direct discussions between Armenia and Azerbaijan to address issues that benefit the region, adding that the U.S. is prepared to play a role in supporting these negotiations.

“We have seen other countries also offer to facilitate these talks. We consider it crucial for the two countries to negotiate face-to-face in order to reach a long-term agreement,” Miller noted.
