Video: Fines for Violations in Construction Site Furnishing to Increase

In Yerevan, the total number of multi-apartment residential buildings that are subject to furnishing with dustproof nets within the framework of construction site organization is 213. This was stated today by the head of the urban planning and land control department, Yakov Asatryan, during a working consultation at the City Hall, informing that at this moment, 11 objects have been fully furnished with dustproof nets, and since the decision made on September 1, 257 reports of violations in construction site furnishing have been prepared.

The mayor responded, "The percentage is very low, which means we are failing in our work. We received something from September 1 that we have not been able to ensure. Out of 257, only 11 have been completed. This indicates that the administrative circles are not doing enough work in this area. It also means that the oversight here is weak, it needs to be doubled, and we need to report the numbers again next week." Asatryan added that one of the issues is also the size of the fines, which ranges from 70,000 to 100,000 drams. "There are developers who, after being fined several times, have not completed the furnishing at all or have done incomplete work, which is not included in these figures. Together with the legal department, within the framework of your assignment, a project has been developed that will discuss significant changes to the legislation regarding administrative violations related to construction site violations, which will make developers more accountable, and in case of non-compliance with the community's requirements, much larger fines will be imposed." Tigran Avinyan also stated that while changes have not yet been made, efforts should be intensified for developers to understand that there is a decision in this regard and that there is no opportunity to avoid this decision.
