VIDEO: "Don't invent a new bicycle, there is a standard for ramps worldwide," Avinyan
In Yerevan, a procurement announcement is being prepared for the construction of 400 ramps for the year 2024, with an estimated cost of 250,000 drams per ramp. This was reported during a procedural meeting of the Yerevan City Hall to Mayor Tigran Avinyan.
“Here the standard is very important. I ask you to align the standards, let’s not create something that we later say ‘this doesn’t work’ or ‘that was not good.’ The world has gone through this experience; we shouldn’t reinvent the wheel,” he stated.
Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan sought clarification: “As far as I know, you want the ramp to have several approaches.” Avinyan responded, “I want a properly designed ramp that conforms to the standards found in developed cities around the world, and not to create Armenian improvisational versions.”
